Virtues are formed by prayer. Prayer preserves temperance. Prayer suppresses anger. Prayer prevents emotions of pride and envy. Prayer draws into the soul the Holy Ghost and raises man to Heaven. - St. Ephrem +++Oremus. May we stay on course, through daily self-denial, taking up our ✝️, to follow Him - to know, love and serve God - with the guidance of the Declaration of Truth, by Cardinal Burke & other leaders, 31 May'19... May the Holy Spirit help us to understand and guide us. Amen.

"Let go! Let God!"
I've been reading The House of the Seven Gables by Nathaniel Hawthorne. I praise God for it is refreshing to read about various forms of falls & rises in life/health/finance/emotion, profoundly parallel with what I have observed/experienced.
During the 14th Sun (7.5.15) Vigil homily, my Pastor Fr. Pat reminded us to reflect on the image of when first learning to ride a bicycle: how we could suddenly begin to enjoy riding from the moment we simply let go of the fear and tension.
Many people seem to forget to let go & let God so many times almost every day. I believe this alone would alleviate a lot of mental illnesses in our society.
St. Benedict pray for us! Amen.

Let nothing disturb you...
Above from St. Teresa of Avila... I first encountered it before 1990 in the following version:
Let nothing disturb you,Let nothing frighten you,All things are passing away:God never changes.Patience obtains all things.Whoever has God lacks nothing;God alone suffices.
Let nothing disturb you
nothing frighten you.
All things are passing.
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things.
Nothing is wanting to him
who possesses God.
God alone suffices.
