May our prayers lead us to Actions!

(I was going to write this as an email to our 40 Days for Life community, but I came to better sense: we are bombarded with too much information. I pray that many will come to find my thoughts useful.)

Dear Prolife Friends:

I trust that the Holy Spirit is moving us to actions. Here are more opportunities to network and put our prayers into actions in a more concrete way that we know how: go out to where the babies are being killed – to call upon God in desperate prayers on our knees to end abortion. America needs to see this and we are all called to reach out to our neighbors and invite them to join us in prayers and fasting! Since the law of the land allows the abortion to happen right in our own backyard – literally!! – we have to focus our eyes to our almighty God and offer our suffering moments through prayers and fasting (and even the challenges that we face as we break through our comfort zones)! Let us persevere in prayers! What else can we do?!

As we are preparing for 40 Days for Life Fall Campaign, I think it’s really important to take every opportunity to reach out to community to invite every Christian to join this effort!

So here are immediate and relevant actions we should take:

1) Prayer Vigil at Kenmore Planned Parenthood

When: This Friday (in 2 days!), 9/4/09
Mass Time & place: 8:30 am at St. Brendan’s
Vigil Time: about 9:45 am
What to bring: signs with positive messages

Vigil Details: Once again, the Respect Life committees of St. Mark’s and St. Brendan’s will gather to pray for everyone involved in abortion services at the Kenmore Planned Parenthood clinic, located in the rear of the strip mall located on NE 181st and 66th NE (just one block off Bothell Way). Join us immediately after the 8:30 Friday morning Mass on September 4 if you want to carpool over. We intend to arrive on the sidewalk in front of the strip mall at about 9:45 and will pray all four mysteries of the rosary. Bring signs with positive messages. We will pray for the mothers, babies, fathers, families and the staff of the clinic. If you cannot join us at the vigil, please join us in prayer during that hour. We will continue to keep vigil every First Friday morning for the next six months at least. For information, call Suzanne Harmon, 425-486-8145 or email her at suzyscone@hotmail.com

2) Monthly Prayer Vigil at U-district Planned Parenthood

When: This Saturday, 9/5/09
Mass Time & place: 8 am at Blessed Sacrament Church
Vigil Time: immediately after 8 am mass – there will be a procession for 6 blocks to the PP
What to bring: Matt & Georgene are quite well-equipped. Just bring yourself!

Vigil Details: Please join us this Saturday Sept. 5th at Blessed Sacrament for Holy Mass at 8:00 AM followed by a peaceful prayer vigil at Planned Parenthood next to the Metro Theatre building on 45th. We will return to Blessed Sacrament after the prayer vigil for Benediction.
For those who do not want to go to the abortion site the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for people who want to stay and pray in the church.
Become a part of this most important work. Indeed, your participation is vital if Our Lord is to end this “slaughter of the innocents.”
God Bless you,

P.S. Just want to share w/ you an excellent article of healing and graces!
"Turning Your Lifelong Regrets into Immeasurable Graces" on the following
link: http://www.catholictherapists.com/Psychology/Turning-Your-Lifelong-Regrets-into-Immeasurable-Graces.html
As you know I recently went through Hope Alive Level I Group Counseling Training
through Mount Joy College, run by Dr. Philip Ney & his wife Dr. Marie
Peeters-Ney. (www.mtjoycollege.com and www.messengers2.com).

The above article was an affirmation of how wonderful God is through many graces he pours upon us!

P.P.S. Let us join our efforts to keep alert on many issues that threaten our Christian values. We need to continue to pray re: Referendum 71, that:

>” the public understand that this debate is not about being mean or nice, intolerant or intolerant. The public needs to understand that this legislation is a very real threat to religious liberty--our first freedom. And it will also add significant financial liabilities to the state of Washington, which we can ill afford."
