Never Leave Anything in the Car!

This morning, our neighbor rings the doorbell and apologized to me for being a bearer of bad news: that my car was broken into. Glass was shattered. I called 911 & requested that police come out; but turned out it didn't really matter because the police didn't even take the fingerprints, even though the glove compartment was open.  The officer also explained to me that shattering glass does NOT set car alarm.

Lessson:  NEVER LEAVE ANYTHING IN THE CAR!!!  How many times have I heard? How times car theft happened even at the church parking lot?!  Of course, that was the first thing my husband said as well.

Photo taken at about 8:40 am shortly after my kind neighbor's report.

At 8:22 am I had a missed call from Bob & Vicki, whom I know from Prayer for Healing team. Message: "Schola, you wouldn't believe what we found this morning! Your 40DFL bag with your bible with your name on...right by a car."

8:55 am:  I confirmed with Bob who advised me that he handed over my bag to a police officer and the bag was found at about 7:20 am when his wife was about to leave for work.

About 9:15 am the police officer came over to our home and made a report; and confirmed that another officer has my bag, after inquiring me about the content of the bag.  I also had Samsung Camera with A LOT of photos!!! - too bad I didn't download all those valuable photos!!!

Between 9:24 am to 10:20 am, I made an insurance claim and have an appointment at 3 pm to get my passenger side window replaced.  Meanwhile, my husband Brad notified that he will arrive late to work and cleaned the glass debris & my car.  Thank you, Brad!!!  I am very blessed to have a caring husband next to me.

At 10:49 am, officer called me that she will drop off my bag.

Above photo of what was returned to me was taken at about 11:15 am.

What I have lost:  Samsung digital camera (I still have cable & power adapter), my "LIFE with baby's feet" beanie hat, ear muffs, and gloves.  They hold memories and sentimental values (i.e. ear muffs & gloves were Christmas presents from Brad).

My prayer:  Dear God, please help the person(s) who broke into my car this morning, or whatever time during the night.  Please open their hearts to repent their wrong and to amend their lives.  Also, please help me find my camera and others that I lost. But most of all, dear God, help me to have peace in my heart and move on. Amen.
