One of the things that I miss most about being in Seattle area is the Carmelite Novena. It has been a very special event for my spiritual formation shortly after my arrival in Seattle in 2002. It was during the Novena in 2002 that I got to meet many important friends who quickly became my sphere of influence, when I only knew less than a half dozen people when I first arrived during the Memorial Day weekend...
(To be continued...)*
*My Dad told me once, "Scholastica, you don't have to tell everything. Somethings are better said less than what may seem necessary at the time."
Also, I believe that the Spirit of Truth will reveal everything to us, eventually, anyway.... we have so much information online and may we trust in Him completely that no more words are necessary other than to say yes or no. Amen. :)

The Pilgrim Virgin Fatima Statue, most recently blessed by Pope Francis, will be at the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help from Saturday, July 12th at 10:00 A.M. until Sunday, July 13th at 3:00 P.M.
The statue was made and purchased in Fatima.
It was taken to the Vatican on the Wednesday immediately following the Sunday, October 13, 2013 consecration of the world to Our Lady of Fatima - the event for which the original statue of OLF was flown from the Fatima shrine in Portugul to Rome at the request of Pope Francis.
At the conclusion of the General Audience on October 16, Pope Francis walked over to the statue and imparted his blessing upon it.
This image of Our Lady is as she appeared to Sister Lucia at the Dorothean Convent in Tuy, Spain on June 13, 1929 in what has come to be known as the Las or Final Vision, with her Immaculate Heart surrounded by thorns held in her left hand.
The purpose of the statue is to bring the graces of Fatima and Our Lady's message to the people of the USA, most of whom will never have an opportunity to go to Fatima.
The USA debut of this statue was at the March for Life on January 22, 2014 where it was carried by an honor guard made up of students from Benedictine College in Kansas and members of the World Apostolate of Fatima from around the country.
By the time the statue arrives in Champion, it will have also been featured at a Marian conference in the Archdiocese of St. Paul/Minneapolis and at a Marian conference cosponsored by Ave Maria University and the World Apostolate of Fatima and visited by a number of parishes in the Diocese of Venice, Florida where Bishop Frank J. Dewane (formerly of the Diocese of Green Bay as a priest) is the local ordinary.
