I signed Brad & myself for an hour at 9 pm Fridays during the 40 Days. But after a long day's work, Brad & I were both tired, and we finally had to detach ourselves from sofa at 8:55 pm, late for our first shift.
I couldn't keep my candle lit, but while praying Sorrowful Mystery, I thought about all the unborn babies who were killed in this very abortion clinic. I wanted to cry out loud.
Meanwhile, cars passed by or turned around after dropping off their mails at the post office across the street. There were some loud mopeds passing by as well.
Tired, Brad decided to sit in the car while I stood outside, praying rosary. It was getting cold, so I was about ready to leave at 10 pm as well. Then a woman joined me and introduced herself as Izzy. Brad came out of the car and joined us. Then soon after another couple came by with a big candle, lighted on the ground, so I also lighted my candles; and together we prayed rosary.
Then suddenly we heard loud motors of two mopeds, then a car pulled into the parking lot of the Planned Parenthood. The car said something like "Laboratory...". A man picked up two zip-locked bags and put them in the back seat. He had music and some kind of speech really loud. We had to really focus on our prayers. Soon after another car pulled in next to him. A woman and her three children (ages between 9 and 13) entered the building.
They were still in the building when we were done with our 5 decades of rosary. We were sharing our eerie feelings earlier. We guessed that maybe the woman who entered the building might be the owner of that abortion clinic. And we were feeling sorry for her children. But soon we noticed that they were cleaning the building, one of the children took out a couple of bags of garbage...mostly papers, but what if there were remains of struggling babies...
After the woman and her children left, we decided that we should leave right after midnight. No one else came by to continue the Vigil.
Brad & I didn't expect our Vigil to be for three hours!! - but truly worthwhile. If there were 80 couples willing to cover 2 hours for 6 times during 40 days, we can have a perpetual Prayer Vigil. Or if there were 160 couples then each couple can pray just for six hours during 40 days. If there were just 10% of our parishioners (say 1000 people), that would definitely be sufficient. If 10% from each of 4 parishioners in Everett came, we could easily have 4 people at every hour 24 x7 during the next 40 days!!!!
I look forward to my next prayer vigil. I signed up for Mondays 10 am, but I think I will also stop by more frequently ... for the next 40 days and beyond. Hopefully, I don't have to do this too long, but if it means to save a baby's life, I shall go on. May God help us through our endeavor. St. Michael, help us to fight against life-threatening evils.

Virtues are formed by prayer. Prayer preserves temperance. Prayer suppresses anger. Prayer prevents emotions of pride and envy. Prayer draws into the soul the Holy Ghost and raises man to Heaven. - St. Ephrem +++Oremus. May we stay on course, through daily self-denial, taking up our ✝️, to follow Him - to know, love and serve God - with the guidance of the Declaration of Truth, by Cardinal Burke & other leaders, 31 May'19... May the Holy Spirit help us to understand and guide us. Amen.
