SMM/SJ Adult Faith Formation Programs

Here's an email from Christian Spencer worth posting:

Greetings in Christ Jesus,

I hope that you have had a wonderful and safe summer!

October 11 marks the opening of what Pope Benedict is calling "The Year of Faith."  He is encouraging all Catholics to dive deeper into prayer and study of the Church's beautiful teachings - and thus encounter the intimate closeness of our loving and merciful God.

I wanted to briefly let you know about 3 excellent opporunities to grow in our Catholic faith this coming Fall at St. Mary Magdalen Parish  - All events are FREE:

1.  Monday Evening Adult Faith Enrichment Classes,
2.  Wednesday Morning Men's Group,
3.  The Thursday Evening Adult St. Luke Bible Study.

1.  Adult Faith Enrichment Classes:

Every Monday, starting this coming Monday, September 17 we begin our Fall Adult Faith Enrichment Series in the Parish Hall (beginning 10/1, meets in the School Library) from 7-8pm.  All are invited to join us and discover the insights and life-changing teachings of John Paul the Great.  Our focus this coming Fall is on strengthening marriages and families here at St. Mary Magdalen Parish and St. John Mission.

I'm confident that those who are able to give God their time in coming to the classes will experience enrichment and renewal in their marriages, greater unity and peace in the family, and practical tips for keeping our grandchildren and children Catholic as they live in our secular culture.

Below is our schedule of classes and more information is available online at our parish website.  http://www.smmparish.org/index.php/component/content/article/139

2.  Wednesday Morning Men's Spirituality/Leadership Group "That Man is You":

All men are invited to join us next Wednesday morning, Sept. 19 at 6am in the Parish Hall for breakfast, fellowship, faith enrichment, prayer.  All men will encounter Jesus Christ through the Church's teachings and throught the fellowship of other men in the parish family.  More info is available on the parish's website:  http://www.smmparish.org/index.php/component/content/article/111

3.  Thursday Evening Bible Study on St. Luke's Gospel:

Beginning Thursday September 27th at 6:30pm, join us for a potluck dinner in the Parish Hall and the Bible Study focusing on St. Luke's Gospel will run from 7-8pm in the Parish Office.  All participants will experience the 'joy of discovery' as they spend time unfolding God's timeless truths and intimate presence in His living Word of Sacred Scripture.  More information on the Bible Study opportunity and RSVP info for the study materials are available at the parish's website:  http://www.smmparish.org/index.php/component/content/article/183
